Hello Computer Users
First let me say "thank you" to BC-LINKS.COM for the opportunity to come to you and share some tips, tricks and experiences with you about computers.
You will find that I speak in English as apposed to 'computerese'. I will talk and walk you though a lot of common problems with your computer and software.
These things (computers) are a bit scary if you are not used to them but all you have to realize is, they are just a metal box waiting for instructions from you, the users.

I will begin today's article about some of the more common terms and phrases you will hear regarding your computer. For you advanced users please forgive me if this is too boring for you, please remember you were a newbie once yourself.

Today's article: COMPUTER PARTS - What are they???
I know for a lot of people the terms used to describe the computer and its parts are confusing. Some people call the box the computer, some call it the cpu and some people call the whole unit the computer. Which piece do you bring in if there is a problem?
The naming of the parts is almost universal across the industry but like any rule there are exceptions. Its kind of like talking English with a Newfie accent or a Westcoast accent, similar but different. These terms and definitions should allow you to carry a conversation without too many worries.
